Juventus are reportedly trying to tempt France international Ousmane Dembele away from Barcelona.
The Frenchman’s future is currently uncertain, as he’s out of contract next year, although reports have suggested his agents will meet Barca this week to discuss a new deal.
The latest update comes from Catalunya Radio who reckon Dembele could move to Juve when he’s a free agent in 2022.
Dembele would sign on for five years with the Turin giants and get paid around €12 million-a-season during his time with the club.
There’s been previous whispers Barcelona suspect Dembele and Juventus may have been plotting a transfer which is why one reason the Catalans believe contract negotiations haven’t progressed too well.
It’s also been rumored that Barca will either sell or renew Dembele this summer and are even willing to put him in the stands next season if he does not sign a new contract and a buyer can’t be found.
Dembele hasn’t said much about his future but did offer this snippet to L’Equipe at the start of the month.
“I don’t know, we’ll see. We will meet with the management,” he said. “I’m not in a hurry and neither are they, we’ll see what happens. I’m totally focused on the Euros, then I’ll go on holiday. It’s been a long season.”
Talk about Dembele’s future looks set to rumble on for a while, unless he does put pen to paper on a new deal, particularly with the forward away with the France team at the Euros. Les Bleus play their first fixture of the campaign on Tuesday against Germany at the Allianz Arena.
