Memphis Depay appears to have confirmed he will be joining Barcelona this summer on a free transfer at a news conference on Wednesday.

The forward spoke about the current speculation surrounding his future ahead of the Netherlands’ next Euro 2020 fixture against Austria on Thursday.

Here’s what he has had to say:

“Everyone knows that I have been linked with Barça for a long time now, and I want to play for Ronald Koeman. Just wait, and then the news will come. Now I’m focused on Netherlands.”

Depay’s contract with Lyon expires at the end of June, and the latest rumors have claimed a deal to bring the forward to the Camp Nou on a free transfer has been sealed.

All that seems to be missing now is the official announcement, but it’s not clear when that might happen with Depay and the Oranje currently preparing to take on Austria.

The Netherlands kicked off their tournament with a thrilling 3-2 win over Ukraine and another victory would see the team safely into the next round.
