Barcelona back in for Grimaldo?
Today’s rumors start with news that Barcelona could be about to resurrect interest in former defender Alex Grimaldo to provide competition and potentially replace Jordi Alba.
Apparently Ronald Koeman and his coaching staff are big admirers of Grimaldo but know that a deal will be difficult to achieve, so say Diario AS.
Grimaldo still has two years left to run on his contract at Benfica but is thought to be available for around €20 million.
Barcelona not confident on Ilaix Moriba
Over at Marca there’s an update on Ilaix Moriba’s future at Barcelona after initial talks took place over a new contract.
The report reckons that “there isn’t much confidence” a deal can be done because “the two parties have started with very different positions.”
Barca want Ilaix to stay, the youngster is also keen to remain at the club but “the demands of his representatives are significant” and may be out of the Catalans’ financial reach.
Todibo to Nice move imminent
One player who definitely is off this summer is Jean-Clair Todibo who is close to sealing a permanent move to Nice.
RMC Sport report that the Ligue 1 side will activate the purchase option in his contact and sign the defender for €8.5m plus add-ons.
Todibo has earned his move after a loan spell where he played 15 times in the league for Nice and helped the team finish in ninth place.
Barca eyeing four Man City players
And finally we end with yet another report about Barcelona, Manchester City and the players who could swap the Etihad for the Camp Nou this summer.
Mundo Deportivo reckon Barca have four City players on their shopping list and have even put them in order of priority.
First up is Aymeric Laporte, Joao Cancelo is next, Bernardo Silva is third on the list and the final name is Riyad Mahrez, while Barca could use Ousmane Dembele in any swap deals.
