Barcelona could announce Memphis Depay as the club’s fourth new signing of the summer transfer window with the next “48 hours.”
The Netherlands international has been linked with a Camp Nou move for some time now, but it seems a deal could finally be confirmed this week.
The Catalans have offered a three-year contract and want to get the deal sorted quickly after losing out on midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum to Paris Saint-Germain.
Here’s the latest update from Fabrizio Romano:
Barcelona are now offering Memphis Depay a contract until June 2024. Three years improved agreement on the table in order to complete the deal ‘as soon as possible’, to avoid another turnaround after Gini Wijnaldum changed his mind to join PSG. #FCB #Barça— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) June 7, 2021
Reports elsewhere suggest Barca could announce Depay as a Barcelona player within the next 48 hours and want to get the deal wrapped up before the start of the Euros.
Depay is currently with the Netherlands squad and has been in good form in their warm-up matches, scoring three goals in two games against Scotland and Georgia.
The Netherlands kick off their European Championship campaign on Sunday against Ukraine at the Amsterdam Arena.
