Barcelona have already signed Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia from Manchester City, been rumored to be interested in Aymeric Laporte and Ilkay Gundogan and now, apparently, have turned their attentions to Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling.
The Mahrez rumor comes from El Chiringuito’s Jose Alvarez who reckons the Algerian’s name cropped up when Barca were talking to City about Gundogan.
Reports in the UK have previously suggested Man City could be willing to sell Mahrez and Sterling this summer, although it’s worth noting Mahrez has since insisted he wants to stay.
He told DZ Foot earlier this month: “There is nothing about my future. I am well in Manchester. I will stay God Willing.”
And so on to Sterling. Sky Italy reporter Matteo Moretto reckons Barca are thinking about the England international but realize it would be a “complicated” transfer and would need a few players throwing into the deal to make it work.
This is a really odd rumor considering the attacking options Barca already have available in the squad, particularly with Ansu Fati hopefully back fit next season and with Memphis Depay also expected to arrive.
Which Manchester City player can we expect to be linked with Barcelona next?
