Barcelona reportedly still want to sign a midfielder after missing out on Georginio Wijnaldum and have three more names apparently under consideration.

Ajax starlet Ryan Gravenberch, Real Sociedad’s Mikel Merino, and Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz are all of interest, according to Catalunya Radio.

The report reckons Ronald Koeman remains keen to strengthen the Barca midfield and fancies adding another Dutchman in the shape of Gravenberch.

The 19-year-old is liked for his “imposing physique” and “good vision” as well as being a good box-to-box to midfielder.

Koeman is also keen on Merino with the report talking up the 24-year-old’s power, tactical knowledge and aerial ability. There’s also a suggestion that Barca have followed Merino for a while now.

The third name on the list is Ruiz who has also been linked with Barca for some time but looks to be out of the Catalans’ financial reach this summer.

Interestingly, the report signs off by talking up Barca youngster Nico Gonzalez and suggests the teenager may get a chance to impress Koeman in pre-season.
