Barcelona confirmed on Monday that 18-year-old midfielder Kays Ruiz has returned to the club on a free transfer after leaving Paris Saint-Germain.
The teenager will join Barcelona B and has signed a three-year deal with the option for two more. Here’s Barcelona’s official statement:
“FC Barcelona have signed Kays Ruiz for the Barça B squad. The 18 year old French-Moroccan midfielder arrives on a free transfer and signs for three seasons with an option for another two and his buy out clause is set at 50 million euros, rising to 100 million should he become a member of the first team.”
Ruiz arrived at Barcelona at the age of seven and spent six seasons with the club before heading off to PSG after the club’s FIFA sanction.
The youngster now gets a second chance at Barcelona and it will be interesting to see how he gets on under new coach Sergi Barjuan and if he can impress enough to be handed first-team chances.
