According to a report from Sport, Barcelona are confident of a sale involving Martin Braithwaite in the next week. The report details how Barca have multiple offers on the table and are expecting something in the range of 15 million euros.
The good news for Barca and the value of Braithwaite is that he had a stellar Euro 2020 tournament on one of the last four teams alive. His run with Denmark and time Barcelona last year has certainly helped him keep his value.
Braithwaite was a valuable player for Barcelona given what they paid for him. His change of pace off the bench was massive and honestly, I was looking forward to seeing more of that this season. However, the signings of Sergio Aguero and Memphis Depay seemed to signal Barca weren’t as excited.
The report doesn’t mention where Braithwaite is heading but it seems the Premier League is the 30-year-old’s most likely destination even though he’s attracted interest from a “Russian team” and Valencia.
