Antoine Griezmann was back in pre-season training on Tuesday evening amid intense speculation about his future at Camp Nou.
The Frenchman was back at the club after his summer exploits at Euro 2020 along with Frenkie de Jong and Clement Lenglet who also took part in the session.
New signing Memphis Depay undertook his first pre-season training session with Barca on Tuesday morning but wasn’t involved in the second session of the day.
Griezmann’s future is currently uncertain with Barca seemingly keen to offload the Frenchman in order to register Lionel Messi’s new contract and comply with La Liga’s salary cap.
A swap deal involving Saul Niguez has already been mentioned, and seemingly ruled out, while Tuesday also brought fresh rumors of a potential swap with Paulo Dybala. That rumor has also been quickly shot down, although there are still whispers that Premier League clubs could be keen on Griezmann.
Yet despite all the transfer talk there doesn’t appear to be any concrete interest in Griezmann currently, and there’s very little movement in the market at present with clubs across Europe hit financially hard by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Barca’s season starts in less than a month giving the club little time to sort out Griezmann’s future. The fact the Frenchman is now back at the club may help things progress, but it’s still unclear where Griezmann will be playing his football next season.
