Ronald Koeman was a bit vague this week when asked about Antoine Griezmann. Which of all the things Koeman has done I can’t blame him for this one.
Given the complicated nature of Griezmann as a player right now, it’s a bit difficult to speak honestly on him. Add in the fact that Griezmann’s value is pretty vital to Barcelona being able to afford to re-sign Lionel Messi, and you have something very combustible.
“Griezmann is very important for me. He’s been a great signing for Barcelona and has shown his quality. He’s performed well and is a very good player. But I insist, I don’t know which decisions will be made. The most important thing is for Leo to sign a new contract. He is the future of the club, and we need to try everything to get him to sign.”

It’s been reported Barca still need to remove around €200 million from the wage bill to keep hold of Messi which surely means some high earners will have to go before the start of the new season.
