Barcelona are reportedly confident of securing a contract extension with Ousmane Dembélé. Despite suffering yet another injury setback, the Frenchman seems to be close to a deal to stay at the Camp Nou for a few more years.

The deal will likely be at a reduced pay scale due to the well-known financial problems Barcelona face at the moment. However, the fact an agreement could be reached before the season starts would be a big deal.

Since Dembélé’s current contract ends next summer, there were concerns in the club about what would happen before his injury at Euro 2020. Now that talks seem to be progressing nicely, Barça can likely breathe a sigh of relief that they won’t lose their massive investment in Dembélé for free next summer.
