Barcelona striker Rey Manaj is set to join Serie A club Spezia on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy, according to Fabrizio Romano. Serie A clubs usually take that option in deals like this, so it is very likely this turns into a permanent move for the Albanian. Reports from Italy say Barça will receive a €3 million loan fee.

Manaj was hoping for a chance with Barça’s first team this season and scored four goals in preseason, but stayed on the bench in the first three La Liga games and is leaving for Italy to get some top-flight experience.

The 24-year-old scored 14 goals in 22 games for Barça B last season and has showed some excellent potential, and if he impresses in Italy he may get a chance to prove himself at Camp Nou again.
