Dani Olmo appears to have confirmed that Barcelona tried to bring him back to the Camp Nou from RB Leipzig on deadline day.
There were rumors that Barca made a late move for Olmo after agreeing to let Antoine Griezmann leave but couldn’t meet RB Leipzig’s €75 million asking price.
Barca ended up moving for Luuk de Jong instead but there have already been more rumors the club will return for Olmo, possibly as early as January 2022.
Olmo has been talking about the speculation and said there wasn’t time to think about a transfer before the window closed.
“It all happened too quickly, for my part there was not even time to think about a transfer,” he said.
“For now I have my head set on the whole season with Leipzig and I’m fine here. I really want to play, to fight again with Leipzig in international tournaments. That is my motivation.”

Barca’s main focus in the summer was offloading players to help raise funds and reduce the wage bill but things may be different next year. President Joan Laporta has said this week that, “Next window we can act with more normality.”
