Former Barcelona and Netherlands star Boudewijn Zenden has been talking up Luuk de Jong after his deadline-day move to the Camp Nou from Sevilla.
The 31-year-old moves on a season-long loan with a purchase option after just 10 goals in 69 games during his two years with Sevilla.
Zenden knows De Jong well from the duo’s time together at PSV, where the striker netted 122 goals in 204 outings, and the former Barca star has been talking about his attributes.
“I worked with Luuk de Jong for a long time at PSV, for us he was the most important player. Also, he has experience and is very intelligent,” he said.
“He generates a good feeling in the dressing room and he also likes to talk a lot with the coach to improve things.
“When you come to Barça you need some time to adapt. Frenkie de Jong did not play badly his first season, but the second was already much better. Luuk de Jong has already played in Spain and knows how things work, he will not be surprised by the Barça style.”

De Jong also played with new Barcelona teammate Memphis Depay at PSV. According to Mundo Deportivo, the two players combined to score 54 goals for the Dutch side in the 2014-15 title-winning season.
