Barcelona are preparing to sack Ronald Koeman and the only thing holding them back is the timing, according to Goal. The report details how Barcelona are planning on letting the Dutchman go during the next international break.

The Catalans play Cadiz, Levante, Benfica, and Atletico Madrid before the season pauses again in October and it seems those games are likely to be Koeman’s last in charge of the club.

What’s more interesting is that the report adds that Roberto Martinez is likely to be the top man Barcelona look to target. Currently, the former Everton manager is at Belgium where he’s leading one of the more talented teams in the world.

It’s a little bit interesting to see how this plays out. Martinez is at a pretty comfortable job and coming to Barcelona in the state they’re in would be an interesting career choice. However, it is still Barcelona, so perhaps I’m overcomplicating it.
