Carles Puyol has some motivational words for Barcelona after another slightly crazy day at the Camp Nou and ahead of Thursday’s La Liga clash at Cadiz.
The former captain took to Instagram wearing the team’s new home kit with a few choice words of advice.
He wrote, “These are not easy times, but only if we are united and support the team will it be easier to get ahead. Long live Barça, now and forever.”
Puyol’s words follow on from Ronald Koeman refusing to answer questions at his pre-match press conference on Wednesday. The Dutchman read out a statement instead, about how the club is busy rebuilding, and then left the room.
President Joan Laporta had earlier sent another message to supporters asking for patience and insisting once again, “we know what needs to be done and we will sort it.”
Speculation persists that Koeman is set to be sacked and that Barca are looking for his replacement. Ajax boss Erik ten Hag and Belgium’s Roberto Martinez have already played down rumors, while Xavi is also being linked with a possible return.
