Hey, another chapter to the Marquinhos Saga!!!
According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona and Marquinhos have reached a personal agreement for the 20-year-old defender. It's said that Barça football director, Raúl Sanllehí, is in Brazil and met with Marquinhos at a hotel in Guarujá, São Paulo, to discuss all the contract terms and how they are going to convince PSG to accept it.
They've reportedly agreed on everything: wages, bonuses, other details, and the contract duration, of five years. Now, the next step would be convincing PSG to accept the 20 million + Dani Alves offer. PSG are interested in Alves for a long time, and Alves himself has indicated that Paris could be his destination.
Last week, we discussed here wheter the Marquinhos deal was over, given that former PSG center-back Alex has joined AC Milan and manager Laurent Blanc didn't want to lose another reliable CB, having just Thiago Silva and David Luiz as their defenders. Now, reports from Italy say that the French club could be closing in on a deal with another Milan defender, Mexés. If that's true, Marcos transfer talks could get easier, and his signing with Barça -- and the end of this incredibly long soap opera -- could become finally a reality.
What do you think, Barça fans? Is Marcos really a reliable option at CB? Should Barça go after someone else?
